A private car from Buffalo to Toronto is one of the easiest ways to make the trip: one driver picks you up at your door, takes you across the border and drops you exactly where you need to be in the city or at Toronto Pearson. This guide explains what is included, how the border crossing works, what changes from one trip to the next, and how we put your quote together.

You will not find a price list here, and that is on purpose. Every trip is quoted for the exact pickup, destination, date and group, and the quote you get in writing is the price you pay. If you already know your plans, the fastest route to a number is to call or text (716) 406-7767.

What's included in a Buffalo to Toronto car service

    • Door-to-door pickup: We collect you at your home, hotel, office or terminal door in Western New York and drop you at the exact Toronto address you give us, not at a bus bay or a rideshare zone.
    • One driver the whole way: The same driver takes you from Buffalo, through the border and into Toronto. There is no transfer at the bridge and no second vehicle on the Canadian side.
    • Border crossing handled: We plan the crossing, pick the bridge that makes sense on the day, and talk you through what the officer will ask. You answer for yourself, but you never have to work out the route or the lanes.
    • Tolls and fuel in the quote: Bridge tolls and fuel are part of the quote. Nothing is added after the trip for the crossing or the drive.
    • Luggage help: Your driver loads and unloads your bags, whether that is a carry-on for a meeting or a full set of suitcases for a flight out of Pearson.
    • Flight tracking for airport runs: For Toronto Pearson pickups we follow your flight, so an early or late landing does not leave you stranded. We hold a Toronto Pearson pickup permit and are authorized to operate in Canada, so we can pick you up on either side of the border.
    • A written flat-rate quote: You get one flat price for the whole vehicle, in writing, before you book. It does not change with traffic, a slow border line or the time of day.

How the trip works, step by step

    1. Pickup. Your driver arrives at the agreed time, loads your bags and confirms the plan for the day, including any stops.
    2. To the border. From most of the Buffalo area the run to the Peace Bridge is short. From the Northtowns or Niagara County, the Lewiston–Queenston Bridge is often the better choice.
    3. The crossing. At the Canadian booth the officer speaks to everyone in the vehicle. Have your documents in hand, answer for yourself, and declare anything you are bringing in. Most crossings are quick; on holiday weekends and busy evenings there can be a line.
    4. Along the QEW. On the Canadian side the route runs along the Queen Elizabeth Way around the western end of Lake Ontario, past St. Catharines, Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville, and into Toronto on the Gardiner Expressway or toward Pearson on Highway 427.
    5. Drop-off. Your driver takes you to the door: a terminal at Pearson, Union Station, a downtown hotel, Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, Yorkdale or a home in the GTA.
    6. Coming home. On a round trip or a full day, your driver meets you at a set time and place and brings you back across the border to your door in Western New York.

Crossing the border without the stress

The border is the part most people worry about, and it is usually the simplest part of the day. A few habits make it smoother:

    • Keep your passport, passport card, NEXUS card or enhanced driver's licence with you, not packed in a suitcase in the trunk.
    • Know roughly where you are staying and why you are visiting. Officers ask simple questions and expect simple answers.
    • Declare food, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, firearms and large amounts of cash. Cannabis cannot be taken across the border in either direction, even though it is legal in both New York and Ontario.
    • Travelling with children? Bring their documents, and a consent letter if only one parent is in the car.

Requirements change from time to time, so check the official guidance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Government of Canada before you travel. Your driver can tell you what to expect, but you are responsible for your own documents.

How your quote is put together

There is no meter running on a Buffalo to Toronto trip. Instead, we look at the details below and send back one flat price for the whole vehicle. Splitting it across a group is up to you; the quote stays the same however many people share the ride, as long as the vehicle fits them.

Where you start and where you finish

A pickup in Amherst or Orchard Park and a drop-off at Union Station, Pearson, Markham or Mississauga are different drives. Give us the full address or the terminal, and we quote that exact trip.

One way, round trip or a full day

A one-way drop at Pearson is a different job from a day in Toronto where the driver waits while you shop, see a game or go to meetings, then brings you home the same night. Tell us which one you need.

    Date and time

Early-morning flights, late-night returns and holiday weekends all affect how we plan the driver's day. Your quote is built around your actual times.

    Passengers and luggage

The number of people and bags decides which vehicle we send. A couple with carry-ons and a family of five with ski bags need different space.

    Extra stops

Picking up a second passenger in Niagara Falls, stopping at an outlet mall, or dropping someone at a hotel before the airport are all fine. Mention them up front so they are in the quote.

Once you accept the quote, it is locked. If the border line is long or the Gardiner is slow, that is our problem, not yours. If your plans change before the trip, tell us and we will update the quote in writing before you travel.

How it compares with other ways to get to Toronto

    OptionWorks well forKeep in mind
Private car serviceDoor to door, one driver, border handled, works at any hour, room for luggage and shopping. You book ahead and get a written quote first.
Driving yourselfFull control of your schedule.Someone has to drive both ways, handle the border line and find Toronto parking, and nobody can relax with a drink at dinner.
Intercity busSimple per-seat tickets.Fixed schedules, station to station, and a full coach going through the border together.
Maple Leaf trainA relaxed ride with room to move.Runs on a set daily schedule and ends at Union Station, so you still need to get to and from the stations.
Rideshare appsEasy for short trips around town.Cross-border trips are hard to arrange, and a driver who accepts may not be set up to work on both sides.

For a solo traveller with no luggage and a flexible schedule, a bus or train can be a fine choice. A private car makes the most sense when you are travelling as a group, carrying luggage, catching a flight at a fixed time, heading to an event, or simply want the day to run without thinking about the logistics. Our Buffalo to Toronto transportation guide goes through each option in more detail.

    Popular Buffalo to Toronto trips

    • Flights out of Toronto Pearson. Many Western New York travellers fly from Pearson for international routes. Air Canada and its Star Alliance partners use Terminal 1, and WestJet and several other airlines use Terminal 3. Tell us your airline and we drop you at the right door. See our Toronto Pearson car service.
    • Games and concerts. Scotiabank Arena and Rogers Centre are both downtown near Union Station. Your driver drops you close to the entrance and meets you after the event.
    • Business days. Meetings on Bay Street or in the suburbs, with the driver waiting between stops and taking you home the same evening.
    • Shopping and city days. Yorkdale, the Eaton Centre, the Distillery District or a family visit, with room in the trunk for what you bring back.
    • The GTA suburbs. We also run trips to and from Markham, Brampton, Mississauga and Milton. Every Ontario route is listed on our Ontario & GTA car service page.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does the drive from Buffalo to Toronto take?

The drive is roughly 100 miles (about 160 km). Without much traffic it usually takes around two hours, but border lines and QEW or Gardiner traffic can add time. We plan your pickup around your flight, game or meeting, not around a best-case drive time.

    What documents do I need?

US and Canadian citizens can use a passport, passport card, NEXUS card or enhanced driver's licence at a land crossing. Other travellers usually need a passport and any visa their nationality requires. Rules change, so check with CBP and the Government of Canada before you travel. Children need their own documents, and a parent travelling alone with a child should carry a consent letter from the other parent.

    Which bridge do you use?

Usually the Peace Bridge between Buffalo and Fort Erie or the Lewiston–Queenston Bridge, and sometimes the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls. We check the wait times on the day and pick the crossing that gets you there best.

Can you pick me up in Toronto and bring me back to Buffalo?

Yes. We operate in both directions, including pickups at Toronto Pearson, downtown hotels and homes across the GTA, with drop-offs at Buffalo Niagara International Airport or anywhere in Western New York.
