Route and timing
- Coming in on the 405 and QEW is usually straightforward; Brock move-in weekends and big Henley regatta days get busy.
- We check live border wait times before your pickup; both US CBP and Canada's CBSA publish them.
- Heading into Ontario on a weekday afternoon means running into rush-hour traffic, so let us know if your arrival time is fixed.
Border crossing, passports & NEXUS
- The Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, at the end of I-190 north of Niagara Falls, is usually the most direct crossing for a trip to St. Catharines. If its line is long, your driver uses the Peace Bridge instead.
- Canadian border officers inspect everyone in the vehicle at the bridge, so have documents ready and be prepared to declare anything you're bringing in.
- Heading to St. Catharines, every traveller needs ID that Canada accepts. A valid passport is recommended, and NEXUS cards and US enhanced driver's licences are also accepted. Bring a document the US accepts for your return trip too.
- The NEXUS lane can only be used when every person in the vehicle, including the driver, is a NEXUS member; otherwise we time your Buffalo pickup for the regular lanes.
Requirements depend on citizenship and age. Check the official guidance before you travel: US CBP (entering the US) · CBSA (entering Canada) · Live border wait times
